• Geographic Differentials are enacted by the Division of Classification and Compensation (in the Department of Civil Service) to address problems with recruitment and retention in specific title.
  
  

• Geographic Differentials Require the Approval of the Division of Budget
  
  

• Geographic Differentials are for Specific Titles in Specific Locations.  They are separate from, and in addition to, Location Pay.
  
  

• Geographic Differentials  are paid bi-weekly and are reported as compensable income for retirement.  They are not considered "base pay" for promotion or any other purpose.
  
  

• Geographic Differentials are pro-rated based on Part-Time or VRWS percentage
