-
Location Pay is additional compensation paid to employees
working in specific counties in New York State. It is separate from,
and in addition to, any
geographic differential that might be approved for a particular title.
-
Part-Time Employees who work less than 100% time are not
eligible for location pay. Employees participating in the Voluntary
Reduction in Work Schedule Program (VRWS) receive a pro-rata share of
location pay.
-
Location Pay is treated as compensable income for pension
purposes. It is not considered as base salary under any
circumstances, including promotion.
-
Location Pay is discontinued if the employee is reassigned
to a location not approved to
receive location pay.
-
Employees eligible for Location Pay receive either the:
-
Downstate Adjustment (NYC, Long Island, Rockland and
Westchester Counties) or
-
Mid-Hudson Adjustment (Orange, Dutchess and Putnam
Counties)
