Education & Training Memorandum
TO: Statewide Officers, Regional Coordinators, Executive Board, and Council Leaders
FROM: Cliff Merchant
DATE: March 1, 1999
SUBJECT: pcSTAT Plus Computer Software
Training Project
In late January 1999 we announced the expansion of the pcSTAT program to provide computer software training to state employees in all titles and bargaining units. As a result of funding made available by the Professional Development Committee, a "free" course was offered to all PEF-represented state employees that applied for as long as the funds were available.
The committee was able to provide $300,000 for this effort. Unfortunately, the overwhelming response to this program has exhausted these funds and no more applications will be accepted for the free course.
CSEAP is continuing to process the applications on file that fall within the funding limit and will notify the agency pcSTAT Coordinator of the scheduled training programs and participants. Members whose applications have been filed will receive information regarding their training from their agency pcSTAT Coordinator.
The overwhelming response to this program has provided all parties concerned with in-depth information regarding the need for quality computer software training.
