News About Health Care Spending Accounts
Want to save money on out-of-pocket
health care costs? If you had more than $150 in out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision
costs last year, start thinking about enrolling in the Health Care Spending Account
(HCSAccount) for 2002. HCSAccount can help you save money by paying for those expenses
with pre-tax dollars. Want to learn more? Here's how:
- You should have received a paycheck stuffer with your August 29 (administrative) or
September 5 (institutional) paycheck, listing employee
information meetings to be held around the state. Plan to attend one. The open
enrollment period is September 17-November 9, 2001.
- Request an enrollment kit by calling 1-800-358-7202 (press 1 for HCSAccount).
- You can log on to www.flexspend.state.ny.us
to view more information and download enrollment forms. This site also has information
about Dependent Care Advantage Accounts, which is another great way to
save money.
- Visit Health Benefits News on PEF's Current News page at www.pef.org for updates about HCSAccount enrollment.
