Welcome to the PEF Information Line for the week of September 7, 2010.
PEF leaders and staff are making the final preparations for the union’s
32nd Annual Convention which will take place September 12 -15 in Washington,
D.C.
The convention provides the opportunity to set PEF’s course for the
future.
PEF President Ken Brynien said the union will face many challenges in
the future, such as a new governor in 2011, the ongoing state fiscal crisis, as
well as calls to slash the work force, benefits and pensions.
Brynien said the convention will help union leaders remain unified and
focused on the issues most important to PEF members.
