PEF remembers Sept. 11 victims with wreath ceremony
This is the PEF Information Line for Monday September 8, 2008.
PEF leaders and staff will gather at the PEF memorial in Latham to remember the members and others who perished from the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. PEF President Ken Brynien will speak and lay a wreath on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. Members are welcome to attend the service.
PEF plans 30th annual convention in Rochester
Final preparations are underway for PEF’s 30th annual convention in Rochester.
This year’s theme is “Stronger Every Day,” and the convention will run Sunday,
September 14 through Wednesday, September 17. The highlights will include guest
speaker David Cay Johnston, the Pulitzer Prize winning reporter from the New
York Times who broke the story about Enron not paying taxes. He will speak
Tuesday, September 16.
An awards reception will be held Sunday, September 14 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
PEF engineers, nurses, veterans and other committees will also be meeting on
Monday, September 15 and Tuesday, September 16. Approximately 835 delegates will
be attending.
