Information Technology In-sourcing
Chapter 500 of the Laws of 2009 (A.40011/S.66011)

ROLES for PEF IT Members , Leaders and Headquarters:
PEF IT members should sign up for
AIM
to receive tentatively approved term positions along with the certifications
justifying such positions.
PEF members should check GOER website, agency bulletin boards and the PEF website to see what job opportunities exist.
PEF members should have a point person for each IT shop (not necessarily the entire agency as many agencies have multiple IT shops) who is charged with forwarding any official/unofficial postings to PEF at so they can be placed on the PEF website. This is also the e-mail address where PEF members or leaders should send any evidence that can refute an agency's certification that the skill set they are seeking does not exist in a person reachable on an eligible list.
PEF members and/or the PEF point person should approach their agency IT management to see if they can get a heads up on the type of positions they are looking to fill.
If our members believe the posting is arbitrary or inaccurate, PEF needs specific reasons to justify challenging the posting, tentatively approved term position or certification. For example, if the posting, position or certification requires specified experience on CISCO router and the agency posting the position does not have a CISCO router, nor do they intend to purchase one, this would be a posting PEF would object to. If the posting requires Powerbuilder experience and your agency uses only Microsoft.net this would be another example of an arbitrary posting.
In addition, any PEF member who is on an IT eligible list
who has the skills necessary to do the term position posted, and believes
they have a score high enough to be reachable on that eligible list, should
provide PEF with written evidence that they have those skills.
