PEF MEMBERS PACK STATE CAPITOL, DEMAND FAIR CONTRACT NOW!

More than 20,000 PEF, CSEA and other union members from around the state converged on the State Capitol in Albany this afternoon, to tell Gov. Pataki directly, they want a fair contract and they want it NOW.

The members turned out in record numbers, despite the last-minute attempts by the Pataki Administration to cancel the rally permit, despite the bitter cold and despite the presence of hundreds of state police officers and Albany police officers in riot gear.

The busloads of union members from every corner of the state were respectful but loud as they chanted, blew whistles and yelled with one voice, "You got yours, we want ours," to be sure the governor could hear their call for a fair deal.
