We have received a number of phone calls from members inquiring about rumors of a new contract offer from the State. The concern frequently voiced is that this new offer will be impacted by the January 5th rally in Albany.
As of this moment, there has been no movement in the State's position. While we have heard these same rumors, we have had no formal contact from the State to suggest that a new offer is about to be presented to PEF, CSEA or any other bargaining unit. The most likely explanation is that these rumors are circulating in an attempt to decrease participation and support for the Albany demonstration. If your office is contacted about these new rumors, please let the member know that the rumors are baseless. If the member has information that you beleive should be brought to PEF's attention, please contact my office directly.
